We would like to welcome Don Burns, who has transitioned from being a Realtor for Reece & Nichols to the new manager at WestGlen. Enjoy this great Q&A we had with him!

Q: How long have you been with Reece & Nichols?

A:  2 Years

Q: What did you do before coming to Reece & Nichols?

A: I was the Vice President of Sales and Sales Development for Standard Beverage Corporation. (Standard Beverage is an area Distributor that represents Wineries, Distilleries, and Breweries from around the World and sells and markets their products to retail and restaurant outlets). I also spent some years selling and managing for the E&J Gallo Winery in Southern California.

Q: Where did you grow up?

A: Leawood, Kansas.

Q: Tell us about your family?

A: My family is fantastic! Brynn my wife and I have 2 kids. Our daughter Shannon who is 9 years old and is in 3rd grade and our son Sam who is 6 and in kindergarten.

Q: Do you have any pets?

A:  “Jake” the family dog is half Golden Retriever and half Yellow Lab and full of energy.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I like to stay very active so I enjoy tennis, biking with the kids, and being outdoors doing something fun. Ever since I was kid I liked studying History, so I read and research history when I have time.

Q: Who in your life has been the most positive influence and why?

A: All 4 of my parents. I had the opportunity growing up to watch and learn the different dynamics that each one possesses. They have all taught me a lot about the world, business, and how general street smarts and common sense are so important in everyday life.

Q: What was the best piece of advice given to you throughout your career?

A: My dad George would and still does remind me that if you enjoy what you are doing, put in the hours and work hard, be active, and do it with a positive attitude then you will be successful at what you are doing.

Q: If you could be any super hero who would it be and why?

A:  Batman of course! This guy is phenomenal. He has a goal and goes after it. He has built a successful business for fighting crime. He constantly trains to make himself better, and  he continuously is developing  tools of his trade to beat his competition – Bat mobile, Bat plane, Bat utility belt, etc.
